The rigid sling can be used from the first day of life and is extremely versatile allowing you to carry heart to heart but also on the side and back. Depending on its weight and the more or less supportive composition of the fabric, it can be used up to three years and beyond! The standard size is a number 6, i.e. 4.60 m but we find them from 2 m upwards. The fabric has a diagonal weave which makes it supportive but also receptive to accepting weight without forcing it because it has diagonal elasticity. The weight determines how heavy the band will be: the higher it is, the thicker the band but also supportive. Therefore a low weight (e.g. 200 g/m2) will make the band light and not very supportive but also very soft and easy to handle. A high weight (e.g. 280 g/m2) will make the band very supportive but also very voluminous. Usually the band is 100% cotton but there are mixed compositions containing linen, hemp, bamboo, tencel, etc. Each fiber gives the band different characteristics (softer or supportive or breathable, etc. based on the fiber used in the blend).
