Maybe you don't know that... Curiosity about the world of Babywearing!
WHERE IS THE FLAT? "The [newborn's] body fat is distributed in such a way that a thicker layer is found on the back, while on the ventral part there is very little. The ventral contact with the parent's body is functional to the dispersion of less body heat." (Esther Weber)
THE DIFFICULT CHILD Defining a child as "difficult" depends on purely cultural factors that reflect the parents' ways of life! A practical example? While in Italy a child who always wants to be held in one's arms is defined as difficult by one's parents in need of independence and autonomy, in Kenya, among the Kipsigis, a difficult child is one who does not like contact and being in a sling, because culturally this is a very practical and useful way of caring for everyday life. Obviously these mothering models are handed down from generation to generation and therefore continue to repeat themselves!
